Our recent packaging innovations for Original HP LaserJet and inkjet cartridges alone were estimated to have reduced greenhouse gas emissions by over 37 million pounds of CO2 in 2007.
In addition, since 1991, we have offered the HP Planet Partners program that provides free and convenient return and recycling of Original HP print cartridges.

HP Planet Partners Program
HP acknowledges that HP LaserJet print cartridges meet or exceed the recovered materials and post-consumer material content requirements established under the Comprehensive Procurement Guidelines (CPGs) program managed by the Environmental Protection Agency. This representation is based on the use of materials and designated parts selectively recovered through HP’s return and recycling program and/or the recovered content contained in aluminum and ferrous metal cartridge parts as determined using market-wide averages for recovered content in those metals. The amount of recovered materials in HP LaserJet cartridges varies. Based on the characteristics mentioned above, HP estimates Original HP LaserJet cartridges contain approximately 20% or more recovered material per CPG definition.
